Old Yards 1sts 42 - 22 Leek - Match Report HERE
Evesham 2nds 76 - 0 Old Yardleians 2nds
A late cry off and two players going direct failing to turn up meant Old Yards' young second team took the field with twelve players. Their hosts Evesham had a full team plus two reserves but would not lend the visitors any players. Things got worse when Yards had an injury and went down to eleven players. Yards battled for eighty minutes but at such a disadvantage it gave Evesham an easy win.
Old Yardleians 54 - 5 Evesham 3rds
Getting three teams out for the second time this season meant Old Yards 3rds were also short and took the field with fourteen players. This did not stop them having a comfortable win over Evesham 3rds. Yards started slowly as their older players adjusted to what was a fast and open game. First half tries by Colin Jones, Nick Booth, Alan Arkell and Marcus Hope, two of which were converted by Ralph Rollins gave the home side a 24-0 lead at the interval. After half time Evesham fought back and got a try of their own. This caused Yards to respond by running in another four tries with Nick Booth and Colin Jones completing a brace each plus Tony Fitzgerald and Jack Horton touching down. Then came the highlight of the game, Yards' final try. John Lonie took the ball thirty yards out on the wing, out ran two Evesham defenders then cut inside, side stepping three other defenders to score under the posts. Rollins added his sixth conversion of the game as referee Tom Power blew the final whistle.
