Camp Hill 2nds 10 - 24 Old Yardleians 2nds

5 Star Allen Leads Yards to Victory
After Solihull called off our 2nd XV league game we went into the pool and got a game away to local rivals Camp Hill. Third XV Captain Greg Allen played his best ever game for the club. Tackling like a demon, linking with the backs and making solo runs Greg ran the show in defence and attack. Supported by Adam Walker, Guy Smith and Steve Cunningham who all scored tries, they sealed a Yards victory. Furthermore an injury at half time in the front row also meant John Lonie had to play prop yet again. He drove the home side pack back on his own. Could Lonie eventually get what he wants, a start in the First XV at prop aged 44?

Club Stuff:

Attend Training
Training has been poorly attended recently. Please can all players make every effort to support Les and Steve by turning up. We can't become league winners by just turning up on a Saturday.

Players Subscriptions
Thank you to the 55 players who have already paid their 2008/2009 Players Annual Subs in full. Please can the rest of you pay me at the club this Saturday as payment is now overdue. Names of those playing this season but not paid are up on the board. Shame on you!

Autumn International Tickets

The tickets have arrived for the Autumn Internationals. I will be contacting everyone who ordered tickets this week to arrange collection/delivery of them for you. Remember you must use the tickets yourself and not sell them on. If for any reason you cannot go to a game let me know and I will look to sell them on for you to other club members.

Six Nations Tickets

Thank you to everyone who applied for Six Nations tickets. I have sent out confirmations to everyone who gave me an application for what tickets they will receive for the France, Scotland and Italy games.

Guinness Premiership Rugby Balls

Thank you to Brian Collingwood, Steve Painter, Sean Tootill and others who have collected the caps from Guinness Beer Barrels for me. They have been sent off to Guinness who in return has given us Guinness Premiership Quality Rugby Balls to be used in 1st XV league and cup games. Please keep collecting them.

Anything to say?

Please email me details of any Old Yards information, trivia or jokes so I can add them to the next update.
