Old Yardleians U8’s vs Redditch U8’s (Match 1)

On a cold November morning, Old Yardleians hosted a well organised team from Redditch, for a two match series to be played back to back.
Redditch elected to kick off and took an early lead through a well organised line and some very quick individual running. But the game was soon back in Old Yards control through tries from Dan G, Oliver (3) and Daniel E which meant the teams were level with 5 tries each at half time. The half time substitutions didn’t disrupt a fluid Old Yards performance and tries from Toby (2) and Sam meant that with seconds to go the scores were locked at 9 all. After running first all the way left, back, right a bit, back, left again Alex scored the winning try in the right hand corner. The referees whistle was a welcome break for everybody who had tried to run in support of Alex, but a deserved win for Old Yards in the opening game.
