Old Yardleians RFC: Club News

Flat as a pancake (that Peter has sat on)

The end of the season gets nearer. The ground would be hard and dry enough for cricket if anybody actually wanted to play the game.

I even watched some rugby on the box. Wasps planned a big day out at Twickers with all kinds of acts for the fans. Trouble is they forgot to play as Bath's runners destroyed the London side with style.

If they were horses in the national you would say they had fallen at the last fence. Still playing 'beautiful football' but also letting in soft goals and trying to make ten passes in the box before scoring. Can Wenger go, 'no', can Cesc go, 'yes' - at a price.

Rugby

Saturday 7th May: President's day.  Details to follow but likely to include drinking and rugby.

Friday 13th May: Annual Dinner at the club, guest speaker Martin Corry who I feel sure will provide controversial tales from behind the scenes at Leicester, England etc. Tickets from anyone on the committee.

We all make mistakes

Captain Slow spotted a score error on the website of a local club who play in green/white.  In a recent game at their place our Vandals XV (3rds) defeated their 2nds - not the other way round.  Probably a typing error.
