Minis and Juniors appoint new chairman

Fri, 08 Jul 2011 11:54

MR GRAHAM DAVIES

We are very pleased to welcome Graham to the chairmanship of our Minis and Juniors section.  Graham, sundays will never be the same again.  As the saying probably goes, 'one volunteer is better than a hundred press-ganged men.'

Graham has vast experience as a leading teacherof Physical Education and I also remember him as a player for the club a few years ago with his own unique style of play.

We would like to thank Shannon and Pat for their fifty or so years in the job (well, a long time anyway) and if you really think you will be resting on a sunday morning then think again.

At our first meeeting of the M/J section, a good range of ideas were put forward and the main areas targetted for action would be school liaision, player recruitment, to increase the number of parents and senior club members gaining qualified status as coaches and/or referees and to encourage senior players to become more involved and supportive of our younger players.

NEW PLAYERS

If there are any young players reading this who would like to consider joining our club whether you have rugby playing experience or not, then get in touch with us and discover a potentially brilliant game as well as agood social life.

PAUL GOWER

Well, would you believe it, first Simon Brown plans his comeback and next is Paul Gower.  Congratulations on your appointment as player coach with particular responsibility for Cedric's Hawks XV.

AND FINALLY

It is quite a test of our nerve as well as our loyalty.  Clichy gone, Cesc and Nasri possibly to follow, things look grim but remember, as Eddie Kelly said to me not that long ago, 'Mr Wenger knows best.'
