Random Reports

Good to see 'Slow' back on the scene with some basic details of the Vandals home victory against Stourport.  In many ways our opponents were similar to our boys, in other words a team of mainly old (or experienced) players with a sprinkling of younger (naive?) boys who were expected to do all the leg work. The Yards superior fitness won the day with tries scored by Steve Roberts (a jugfull), Max x2, Nev,  Phil Evans, Nick Palmer and young Alex with his first try for the club.  Ralph got some conversions but not sure how many.  Thanks to International panel referee Mr Gary Robinson.

Our under 16s made the short trip to Woodrush (some of us still get lost on the way) to play a team that we usually win against but who always make us work very hard in the process.  Playing up the slope or down it, and nobody is really sure which way the slope runs, our boys played far more effectiveely than in recent matches. A special mention to our front row of Sam Arkell, Josh Purdy and Tyrell Aldred-Jevons.  Their scrummaging is solid, mobility very good and handling combined with intelligent support play that is second to none.  Jack Molloy controlled the game with excellent vision from fly-half.  However, it was only in the last quarter of the game when we really put points on the board.  I would like to thank Woodrush for the style and determination that they display in their approach to our games against them.
