What can you offer your club?
Mon, 27 Feb 2012 03:35
Don't ask what your club can offer you, ask what you can offer your club.
This might sound a little bit like another famous quote but think on. Are you proud of your club? Do you want our visitors to think highly of us? Do you have any skills that might be useful or could you offer your time and labour for an hour or two each week (or even every now and again)? Are you a player, friend, parent, male or female young or old?
At present we rely on a small core of brilliant people who keep the club in place by giving their time, energy and goodwill. However, we need more people to join in.Think of the jobs that need tackling. Pitch maintenance, the kitchen tasks, can you cook a snack for hungry youngsters on a sunday morning? could you give half an hour or so to sweep/mop the changing room areas, the clubhouse or the patio area? Do you have admin skills, could you help with social events, would you be able to assist the team captains or managers on a saturday or sunday? It does not need to be a long term commitment but if you are keen and willing then have a word with any of our committee and see what happens, you might even get to enjoy the opportunity.
If Shannon and myself have any ICT skills then there might be a few photos of some of our 'willing helpers.'
