Old Yardleians R.F.C. 15 Yardley and District 17
A good match against worthy opponents.
Old Yardleians started well. The scrum looked solid and it was from an early scrum that Nick broke to attack the line. He slipped the ball to Matt who was in close support and Matt went over for the first try after just 6 minutes.
Just 2 minutes later a fine passing move with an overlap beckoning so Yardley and District scoring their first try. More good possession for Yardley and District saw them on the Old Yardleians line and they drove over for their second try - this one being converted.
At this stage Steff was moved to his usual position of full back, and Robert came on an outside half. With 20 minutes gone, a Yardley and District player was "sin binned" for stamping. This was Old Yardleians chance to get some points on the board but despite a lot of pressure the only score before Yardley and District were back to full strength wasa drop kicked penalty by Steff.

Tom J replaced Any R for the second half which was punctuated by stoppages for a series of injuries (none too serious) for Yardley and District players. The second half was scoreless until the last few minutes. An offside decision gave Steff the chance to kick for the corner. Another penalty award led to Robert bursting through for what looked like the winnig score. Steff's conversion give Old Yardleians a 3 point lead.
With the last move of the game Yardley and District scored their third try and won the match by the narrowest of margins.
