Jack PriceWhat a good bloke Jack is. The son of Steve and Kim, it was inevitable that he would be deeply involved in rugby and that is how it has turned out. He has, so far, been a back -row, second-row and front-row player and he is a very good player whatever the shirt number. Unfortunately, injury has restricted his progress but, hopefully, he will soon be playing again.
Why have I mentioned him? Simple really because he celebrated his 18th birthday recently with a party at the club. It was fascinating to see the rodeo performances on the 'Bucking Bronco' The two Resident Judges, Dad and Son Dixon, after considerable thought awarded the 'Cowboy' of the day award to none other than that all-round superstar, Sid.
It was good to see at the party an ex-star student of mine from St Thomas Aquinas by the name of Reece Chapman. An exceptional all-round sportsman, he has played a few games for us before the 'bigger clubs moved in'. He is currently training with Bromsgrove where the captain is another Tommies student, by the name of Paul Norris. Reece, if you ever get fed up, that Bucking Bronco must be tempting!
QUIZ EVENING
Even front-row players are invited (a bonus point if you have two front rowers in your team). Dave, Rick and Sue invite you to a charity quiz at the club on Thursday 28th August. Teams of maximum 6 players, a wide variety of topics, £2 per player, doors open from 7.00, first question at 7.30 prompt. The Bar will be open, waiter service and there are prizes for the winners.
David Hall Rest in Peace.
That great character from a few seasons ago, affectionately known as 'Faintly' sadly passed away after suffering a number of heart attacks. An amazing person, the tales will be shared about Dave and he will be missed by all those of us fortunate enough to have known him.
As soon as more news reaches me I will share it with you.
