Aussie Rules hit Tidbury GreenSomething different was on display at the club on Saturday as we hosted a tournament of great importance in the Australian Rules calender. Teams taking part included the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham, and from Ireland came Cork and an all-Ireland invitation team. I suspect that there was another team involved. We think the winners were the Birmingham based side but that could be incorrect.
Senior Rugby
Saturday was a free date and as we have no backlog of fixtures it was an opportunity for our first teamers to rest and to allow any injuries to have a spell of extra recovery time. So with opponents crying off arranged friendlies, we turned out a mix of Devs and Vandals and played Bournville 3rds. We won comfortably but would like to thank our visitors as well as referee, Phil Monaghan.
Our stars on Sunday.
Yet another smoothly arranged fixture saw our 'Future Stars' take on Coventry based Earlsdon in six age groups. It looked to me as if we won more games than we lost but our team managers will be sending in their reports for you all to study. A big thank you to Earlsdon RFC and to the overflow parking organiser at Whitlocks End.
Forthcoming fixtures.

Sad News
News has reached the club via Ivor Enock of the death of one-time Old Yardleians player, John Pearson. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends and 'May He rest in peace'.
