The funeral of former Old Yardleians winger, John Pearson will take place at Hampton-in-Arden Church on Friday 6th February at 3.00 p.m.
I did not ever play in the same side as John but in a team photo that I recently saw, there were three of our current supporters playing in the team. Andrew Dunne (leading bowls player), Tanky Tynan and a very slim Dave Dixon were in that team dated 5th October 1968. The result that day was a victory for the Yards against Kynoch by a staggering score of 14-6.
