Old Yardleians RFC: Club News

NOT MUCH TO REPORT

Wed, 25 Feb 2015 12:00

As she who considers herself a travel agent decided to arrange a mystery weekend away, I tend to reply on my team of able reporters to keep me in touch with the action. The RFU results website is prompt but does not always bring good news.  Anyway to keep it simple our First XV travelled to lowly Old Leamingtonians and lost 24-20.

Our Future Stars
Yet again, a very impressive sunday morning. The Under 7,8,9,10 and 12 travelled over to Hopwood and came away with some excellent results against one of the stronger mini/junior clubs, Kings Norton.
The Under 11s who have had a superb season so far, decided to test their progress against one of the top teams in the Midlands, the Old Sils. The outcome being that if you don't play the strongest clubs then you never really know how good you are.

Monday walking group
This group of retired, knackered blokes, driven out of the house in order to meet similar people, are back in action. If you wish to join us, we walk for about one and a half hours with a compulsory drink at the end. This week we met at Tanworth-in-Arden, the rural home of Chris Watts..Other brave souls included one time rugby players such as Don Deneny (Trinity Guild), Paul Toal (Ballymena), Tom Bridge (Liverpool). If you would like to join us for future walks then get in touch.
