SeniorsAs it was a 'free'Saturday i.e. no league games, the deal on offer to our first team squad was train for an hour and enjoy reduced price beer, or take it easy so that bumps and bruises can recover in time for your visit to see the fine lady on her horse.
Our Developing team faced Tamworth 2nds, fairly frequent opponents and with Celtic Powerhouse, Dave Langley, leading from the front, we won by 38 - 14. It was good to see that inspirational youngster, Dave Hanson, coming off the bench in the second half and Phil, son of the President, Painter, scoring two tries from the second row. It was suggested that Steve didn't reach that high a number in his 40 years as a player.
The Vandals, often referred to as the Goldbourne club, were too fit for their opponents from Wyre Piddle, Pershore 2nds. The pace and support play shown by Roger and Peter helped take the Yards more experienced players to a win by 46 - 20

And Finally
We welcomed two visiting rugby dignitaries to the club last Saturday on fact-finding missions. Mr Lyndon Pritchard (Caerphilly District RFU) and Mr R.J.D. Beckett (South Lancs and Cheshire RFU). They would like to thank Old Yardleians for their hospitality and Pat and Steve for providing an insight into how our club has become so successful.
One more weekend of Home Internationals. The tension is almost unbearable. What an epic encounter we saw as Wales defeated Ireland with both sides showing commitment beyond belief.
