The U14s rounded off a successful season with a win and a performance that has come to typify the effort put in by all the players this season. A tremendous spirit has been built up within the squad and the overall play of the players has improved significantly over the season. With fixtures coming thick and fast since Christmas the standard of the teams that we have faced has gone up considerably from last season.
Although most of the glory has gone to the backs in the try scoring stats, special mention must be made of the forwards. There has not been one match this season where the forwards have been dominated in the scrums, on the contrary, they have had the opposition pack going backwards in most matches. Without this solid platform the backs would not have been able to perform as they have.
With the number of players in the squad it has been difficult at times to get everybody involved but we have nearly always managed to give everybody at least a half a game. Mention should also be made of the younger players and in particular the smaller players as it is never easy facing up to older and physically stronger players.
All players deserve praise for the way they have performed this season and discipline on the field has been excellent. See you all at the Presentation Evening on Saturday 12 May. Well done lads and enjoy the break.
