AN IMPRESSIVE STARTIt was good to see so many of our players at training on Saturday. The weather gods sent us a hot afternoon so it was pleasing that so many of our seniors turned up. Richard and our new fitness and conditioning coach, Dave, worked our boys hard and although one or two might have put on an ounce or so over the summer break, I suspect that things will be different by the time the Club's 15 a side takes place on 15th August..Looking on from a safe distance, Mark, Chicken and myself agreed that an impressive season was well within our capabilities and Robbie offered an insight into the world of the Taxi business and the seasonal fluctuations. Thanks Rob, I feel enlightened.
Summer Fayre
Yet again our Mini/Juniors are showing us what can be done with determination, enthusiasm and pure graft. A whole range of fun and games will be on offer this Saturday at the club from 12.00 to 3.00 . It would be good if the rest of the club supported this ambitious event, either by helping or by turning up to part with some of your cash. More details are available from Jo or Debbie.
Quiz Evening
As we have a reputation as being clever people down at the Old Yards, now comes the opportunity to prove it. The date of this event is Wednesday 5th August. The start time will be 7.00, and due to popular demand, (i.e. Fridge) Fish and Chips will be available. Teams can be up to six in number and is open to friends, players, V.P.s, parents of Minis/juniors. You don't have to be a genious and even forwards might have a chance. More details from me, Dave.
