With seemingly endless numbers of players watching this world cup thing or out shopping with the WAGs it was left to the Vandals to provide the entertainment at Tilehouse Lane against a very youthful Old Edwardian 2nds. With surplus players aplenty on the bench and Eds using theirs to good effect they reached half time 17-13 to the good and has to be said were probably just about worth the lead, with some of the crowd seeing enough & heading back to watch the Wales game. However, the Vandals, a side that never knows when to lie down, rallied in the second half playing some good old skool jumper rugby that Eds had no answer to and ran way with it winning 41-27 with a brace from No.8 Dave "Shumper" Langley, lock Phil Painter, scrum half Gary Williams and prop Dave Vickers with fly half Max Gimson adding two conversions and four penalties.
