WHAT HAS CHANGED OVER 50 YEARS ?

50 Years at Tilehouse Lane

Some of our more senior members claim that they can remember the opening of our club in its semi-rural location 50 years ago. Dave Collen, Tex, Blox, Sid were at their prime, Geoff Hurst was a national hero and summers were always sunny.

Should we celebrate ?
Most definitely yes.
How ?
The Wise Men of the Club have deliberated and the programme will look like this.
The date of the main celebration will be Saturday 17 September which is also our first home league game of the season. Will our new coach start with a victory or will Stafford spoil the party?

Past players, Club Members, followers will be joined by Rugby dignitaries (if we can find any),with lunch provided.  Beer will be at 1966 prices and the evening celebration will feature a sixties fancy dress and contemporary music. If you are all really good Shannon will arrange a buffet which could include Spam or Corned Beef sandwiches and hopefully Angel Delight.

Pre-season training

I was very impressed to see so many of our players training on Tuesday and with a lot of enthusiasm. Watching from the advisory zone were Fridge, Arkell, Big Mark, Shannon as well as myself and we all agreed that new coach Richard can be pleased.
