Three Games to enjoy

My Saturday viewing began at midday.  The Gunners at home against Hull. A shocking game with Arsenal well on top in terms of possession and attempts on goal. Two goals from Sanchez was sufficient to bring victory, but many chances went begging.

As the final whistle sounded it was straight in the car and arrival at the Yards was well timed as the game kicked off. The feast of flowing rugby, just like the Emirates, did not really happen. Our opponents, Veseyans, were a mid table team and would provide us with a chance to judge our recent improvement. In similar style to the Gunners, we had much of the territory,  the Yards dominated scrum and line out but Veseyans did well to slow down our possession and defended with determination. Some of the catching from high balls was exceptional with skipper, Mick Brennan and our back three doing particularly well.Considering the Arctic conditions, I felt that we did enough to deserve a win and a final score of 17-8 was just about right.  If either team had a Farrell or Halfpenny the scoreline might have been different, but coach Chinny looked fairly satisfied and as they say, 'a win is a win'. Our next match is down at Shirley Park where we can assess our improvement when we take on Camp Hill.

Still thawing out, the next treat was to watch the game in Cardiff.  If Dan Biggar had the pace of Elliot Daly, the result might well have been different.

Minis and Juniors
Too cold, not for the kids but for the parents, Debs gave them a week off but next weekend its a convoy to Earlsdon for our under 7-12. The 13-15 will be confirmed as soon as possible.
