Captain Slow on the touchline totally unphased having seen it all before. Then as always the opposition can't resist changing their game plan and try to lock horns with the much older but heavyweight Vandal massive and pay the price conceding three tries in short order from hooker & skipper Mark Baldwin, flanker Phil Painter and No.8 Gary Robinson, Bobo's try being improved by fly half Max Gimson to give the Vandals a comfortable 17-5 lead. A fourth try from Jason Goodwin playing flanker (as a late Xmas present from Slow) giving the Vandals a halftime lead of 22-5. In the second half it was Eds who again came out the blocks the quickest scoring two tries one converted to bring them within a try at 22-17, but the ship was steadied with with Phil Painter now at eight bludgeoning his way over for his second try of the afternoon and the game was put to bed when scrum half Guy Smith fought his way over from short range.
