What?s happening at Old Yards?

A disappointing first weekend in the league when Old Yardleians lost 24-22 away at Selly Oak.  Yardleians started slowly being 17-0 and 24-5 down during the game. Then tries by Adam Walker, Dean Brain, Phil Painter and Ian Walker almost turned the game around. Other games - Sean Byrne lead his team to a tough win against Old Halesonians 3rds while a scratch side led by Greg Allen just beat Pershore 65-50 in a game that started 10 men against 12 and finished 14 against 12.

Update on Tony O?Keeffe - I visited Tony O?Keeffe on Sunday and he was in good spirits. He has begun the slow recovery process following his back injury and is expected to be off work for between 6 to 12 weeks. He will not play again but said he fancies doing some refereeing when he has recovered. Please ring him for a chat on 07988 948089

Jack Horton - Prop Jack Horton?s partner Hayley has gone into labour today. Waters broke at 7ish this morning so the twins will arrive anytime now.

The extension to the bar continues - The windows have gone in. Next week the french doors should be installed followed by the plastering of the walls in the bar. Help continues to be required on Saturdays from 9am onwards.

Easter Tour 2008 - Bobo has organised the Easter Tour to Spain and needs a deposit of £50 asap so he can confirm the booking. Last season?s tour to Koln was a great success so don?t miss out.

Annual Subs - 35 players have paid their Annual Subs in full already, support Old Yards and pay your Annual Subs. With the season under way they are now due. At then end of the month it goes up to £50 so pay now!
