I am a little confused as to the reasons for it but, along with my team of match day critics, who turn up to watch and offer advice whatever the weather it is clear that things are not as they should be. We have plenty of money in the bank, our social events are very well supported and our 'Stars of the future' are thriving and if you don't believe me come along to the club on a aSunday Morning and admire the work done by all of those involved.
So what is happening with our First team ? My touchline observers have a range of theories, most of which are unprintable. Excuses are not what we want, but you blokes at the prime of your rugby playing careers certainly know what is going wrong and it would be good if you could start to turn things around.
Just for a change, I popped over to Kings Norton to watch and support our Thirds in action against the only K.N. side to have a game that day. A team that contained a mix of young and old, fat and thin, played with a good deal of spirit. The referee, a K.N. club volunteer, did his best but a penalty count that was a little uneven did not really help. Injuries to Sam and Jack made things more difficult but it was worth the journey to see what goes on in our lower sides.
Bonfire Night celebration this coming Saturday. Unlike other clubs in the area, entry will be free but if you intend to drive, I strongly suggest that you park away from the club and walk the last bit of the way.
