For reasons that I will think up later, I did not make the journey south into rural Worcestershire but kept in touch with our man on the scene, Shannon. It appears that the Yards were two points down as we entered stoppage time, but a happy ending saw a penalty go our way and the resulting three points were cruel from an Upton On Severn viewpoint but gave us a win by 16-15
The next task for me was to get to the club to watch a fascinating third team battle against a similar club to ourselves, Sutton based Veseyans. With Peter anchoring the scrum and Marcus supreme in the line out a win looked likely and a 26-12 scoreline looked about right.
It was good to see Landscape Gardener and one time pupil of Yardley School , Toff, returning to the fold. I do not believe the story that the only reason he came along was because his caravan was half way across the Bristol Channel. Toff, ignore the rumours and enjoy your rugby.
With the six nations getting forever closer it would be easy to go with the flow and back Ireland. However, deep down I think most of us know that Wales will finish the season at the top.
