Sean Kenwrick - funeral arrangements and coach transport

Mon, 29 Apr 2019 12:00

The following information was received from Sean's family over the weekend;

"We will be saying goodbye to our beautiful man Sean Kenwrick on the 13th May at 2:15 pm at the Bretby Crematorium: Bretby, Burton upon Trent DE15 0QE.
All are welcome to attend and there will be a send off at The White Hart in Ashby de la Zouch afterwards.
As it's Sean, we feel that the occasion should be a colourful affair. The girls and I will be in Sean's festival shirts and Doc  Martens and please feel free to come in a similar comfortable fashion.
And finally, because of Sean's love of nature we would love for there to a sea of flowers upon his arrival.

Many thanks and much love, Kim, Ella, Scarlet and Saffron."

Provided there is sufficient demand, the club committee has decided to subsidise the cost of a coach trip over to Burton, then to Ashby and back to Brum, so that Old Yardleians can attend Sean's funeral and have a drink after.
The current thinking is that we will hire a coach to leave Old Y's clubhouse at around 11:30, then go to a further two pick-up points, say Acocks Green and the Coventry Road, before proceeding on to the Bretby Crematorium to arrive at or before 13:45.

After the service, the coach will go to The White Hart in Ashby, arriving at around 16:00.
The coach could leave The White Hart somewhere between 7pm and 8pm to arrive back in Birmingham by around 9pm according to the consensus of the people on board.

Please give us some feedback, tell us if you would want to make use of the coach, and if so how many of you, where would be the best pick-up points for the majority of people (it is impractical to drive past everyone's house). Please send a text to 07866 260262 or use Facebook messenger to send a message (PM or otherwise) to the Old Yardleians Group on Facebook.

Please do it soon as we need to book the coach early.

Please note the families preference for lots of flowers, so bring your flowers on the coach and we will get there early enough to place them suitably. If you bring flowers and wear a bright shirt there will be no charge for the coach :)
